So Icey Athletics began with a vision born right here in Montgomery County - a vision to give local athletes a premium sports experience rooted in community, family, and growth. After years of watching young talent leave the area in search of better opportunities, our founders recognized the community's need for something more. Tradition alone was not enough, and high-level competition felt out of reach for too many families. Starting as a determined football squad, we evolved into a movement focused on mentorship, elite coaching, and a structure where every young athlete has the chance to thrive. Today, So Icey Athletics welcomes youth across multiple sports, building not just strong players but confident leaders inspired to represent Clarksburg with pride. Our athletes and families are part of a supportive culture designed to keep talent and opportunity close to home. Aaron Greene
So Icey Athletics in Clarksburg, Maryland, is led by Aaron Greene, Founder & Executive Director, a respected coach whose influence and commitment guide the organization's vision and daily culture. With more than twenty-five years of experience as a football player and coach - including NCAA Division II collegiate play, a Pop Warner National Championship, and leadership roles at both the Clarksburg Sports Association and So Icey Boyz Football - Aaron brings unrivaled knowledge to youth sports. He holds certifications in USA Football (Tackle and Flag), First Aid, Concussion Safety, and is National Alliance for Youth Sports (NAYS) certified. His approach goes far beyond playbooks, prioritizing the development of athletes as confident, disciplined leaders both on the field and in life. Aaron's philosophy is grounded in providing every young person with structure, mentorship, and growth opportunities within a supportive community - ensuring So Icey Athletics lives out its mission of building athletes, leaders, and legacy in Montgomery County and Upcounty Maryland.
